Analyst Believes Hughes and the Canadiens Hit a Home Run During This Year's NHL Draft
It was definitely a big week for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
While appearing on TVA, sports journalist Nicolas Cloutier had a lot to say about this very successful acquisition for Montreal.
Successful Acquisition for the Canadiens With Alexander Zharovsky in the Second Round
Here are a few of his key statements.
"It would've been a failure if they hadn't managed to turn some of those picks into immediate help.
And that's exactly what GM Kent Hughes and his team did [with the acquisition of
Noah Dobson]."
- Nicolas Cloutier
The journalist also emphasized that the Habs pulled off a big move by getting their hands on young forward Zharovsky.
"He was ranked in the top 15 by the Canadiens," Cloutier noted.
"The Canadiens hit a home run," he added, mentioning that the team's plan was executed to perfection.
Nicolas Cloutier also added that Kent Hughes seriously tried to make a trade to acquire a late first-round pick on Friday night specifically to select Zharovsky.
"No one in the organization is going to brag, but the Canadiens are no doubt laughing their heads off right now.
We might be talking about this draft for a long time in Montreal."
- Nicolas Cloutier
Things are looking promising moving forward!
