We officially had NHL waiver action today, and the Montreal Canadiens' management got their confirmation.
There were a lot of rumours and whispers today about this, but we finally have confirmation.
Two players, including forward Alexandre Texier, were placed on NHL waivers today
In Texier's case, it was expected, and the Montreal Canadiens had already been linked to him by the well-known Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
At first, we thought it might possibly be through a trade, but in the end, Kent Hughes and the Canadiens could simply claim Texier for free on waivers.
We'll get the answer tomorrow at 2 p.m.
"Texier (STL) & Geertsen (BUF) on waivers" - Friedman
Texier, age 26, is a speedy forward standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 196 pounds. He was a second-round pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2017.
He has 91 points in 240 career NHL games, including 40 goals, and he posted 11 points (in 31 games), 30 points (in 78 games), and 20 points (in 36 games) over the past few seasons.
That's not all.
Forward Mason Geertsen is also available on waivers, if needed!
Geertsen, 30, is a big winger at 6-foot-4 and 231 pounds. He was a fourth-round pick of the Colorado Avalanche in 2013.
He has 89 penalty minutes and 30 career NHL games (no points).
