We suspected something was going to happen with St. Louis Blues forward Alexandre Texier.
It was way too suspicious to see the best hockey insider in the world, Elliotte Friedman, suddenly link his name to the Montreal Canadiens this Thursday morning.
When a big name is in trade rumors, it's more "normal", but when a depth player is suddenly linked to a team by a known insider like Elliotte Friedman, something is clearly going on.
We were therefore expecting something to happen today with Alexandre Texier, and that's exactly what just happened.
The St. Louis Blues confirm an interesting paper transaction (an interesting roster move) involving forward Alexandre Texier
The St. Louis Blues have indeed just confirmed that they are placing forward Alexandre Texier on the "non-roster" list.
the Blues have activated forward Jake Neighbours from Injured Reserve (IR). In addition, the team has designated forward Alexandre Texier non-roster.

The news was even shared by Marco D'Amico, who is an excellent journalist in Montreal, Well, well!
We'll keep an eye on that for you, but I wouldn't be surprised if Texier becomes a target for Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
Texier, 26, is a forward standing 6-foot-1 and 196 pounds, drafted in the 2nd round by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2017.
He has a fairly solid 91 points in 240 career NHL games, including 40 goals, and he recorded 11 points (in 31 games), 30 points (in 78 games), and 20 points (in 36 games) over the past seasons.
More details to come.
