Very good news under the circumstances!
Earlier today, Martin St-Louis mentioned that Montembeault is officially "day-to-day," which is far from the worst-case scenario.
Even better.

The information was even shared by the well-known Elliotte Friedman.

Martin St-Louis thus seemed optimistic regarding Monty's injury, at least given the circumstances.
Cayden Primeau was still recalled from the Laval Rocket for obvious reasons, but everything indicates that Montembeault has a real chance of returning for Game 5 in Washington.
At 28 years old, the 6-foot-3, 218-pound goaltender Samuel Montembeault has a record of 0-1-1 in these 2025 playoffs, with a goals-against average of 2.76 and a save percentage of .908.
He has been excellent.
