We do in fact have a first personnel move to announce this season within the Montreal Canadiens organization at the Laval Rocket level.

Pascal Vincent's squad has made its very first cut of the 2025 training camp.
"The Rocket released defenseman Jacob Paquette from training camp and signed defenseman Emmett Serensits to a professional tryout contract."

A first personnel move for Pascal Vincent's squad

So unfortunately it's already over for Jacob Paquette, as young Emmett Serensits arrives as reinforcement.
Paquette, 26 years old, is a left-shot defenseman standing 6'3" and weighing 201 pounds who was trying to earn his place with the Laval Rocket.
He was a 7th-round pick of the Nashville Predators in 2017 (216th overall) and collected 21 points in 69 games with the Trois-Rivières Lions last season.
Serensits, 25 years old, is a right-shot defenseman standing 6'1" and weighing 180 pounds who recorded one point in 10 games last season with the Trois-Rivières Lions.
Paquette's demotion works in his favor, and Serensits takes the opportunity to immediately step in as reinforcement for the Laval Rocket.
This will be a nice little story to keep an eye on.
The Laval Rocket's training camp kicked off in recent hours, and already includes names such as Joshua Roy, Jacob Fowler, Filip Mesar, Sean Farrell (who were cut from camp and cleared NHL waivers), Marc Del Gaizo, and several others.
