We have some interesting last-minute news involving a forgotten prospect from the Montreal Canadiens organization.

As reported by TVA Sports, Canadiens goaltending prospect Yevgeni Volokhin has been traded in the KHL.
"The 20-year-old goaltender was traded from HC Sochi to Spartak Moscow in exchange for a sum of money on Tuesday. This is the second time in less than a year that Volokhin has been involved in a trade."

He's a prospect often forgotten within the Canadiens organization, but one who's quite intriguing.

Volokhin was a fifth-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens in 2023 (144th overall), making him a selection by Kent Hughes and Nick Bobrov.
The 6-foot-3, 170-pound goaltender played his first full season in the KHL in 2024-25, posting an impressive .901 save percentage behind the very weak Sochi team (record of 4 wins, 17 losses, and 1 overtime loss).
Let's not forget that Volokhin recently agreed to attend the Canadiens' development camp this summer and remains in contact with other Habs prospects from his country, such as Ivan Demidov.
He might be a hidden gem, and we're eager to see how he performs with a stronger team in front of him.
