In recent hours, we talked to you about the young Montreal Canadiens goalie, Yevgeni Volokhin.
He was the subject of a very rare interview with
Daria Tuboltseva, and this interview shows us that he is clearly still in the organization's plans.
He is a very promising young goaltender, who will try to follow in the footsteps of the likes of
Ilya Sorokin and
Igor Shesterkin, but until now we had no news about him.
Is he interested in the Montreal Canadiens?
Are the Montreal Canadiens still interested in him?
It turns out, absolutely yes, so much so that Nick Bobrov and Volokhin speak on the phone several times a month.
Yevgeni Volokhin Will Arrive in Montreal for the Very First Time This Summer
Things are going so well between both sides that Volokhin has even agreed to come to Montreal as early as this summer for the very first time.
"He plans to attend the Canadiens' development camp this summer and remains in contact with other Montreal Canadiens prospects from his country, such as
Ivan Demidov.
After the draft, he spoke with Torpedo defenseman
Bogdan Konyushkov, and the two then played together on the Under-25 national team.
He also knows Ivan Demidov, who has already signed with the Canadiens and made his NHL debut."

Volokhin even stated that Demidov's decision to leave the KHL and immediately sign with the Montreal Canadiens is "great for his future."
So you can expect to see a new face, a new goaltender, present at the Canadiens' development camp this summer.
It's fantastic news to see that he has agreed to come, and it's very promising for the future.
Volokhin is definitely a name to remember!
