Eric Engels Reveals Why Lane Hutson Turned Down a Bigger Offer From Canadiens

Sportsnet journalist Eric Engels has revealed major new information regarding Lane Hutson's new contract with the Montreal Canadiens.
First, let's recall that this morning, completely unexpectedly, the Canadiens announced an eight-year contract extension with Lane Hutson - a deal that will pay him $8.85 million per year.
It's a huge surprise to see that Hughes managed to sign Hutson (and long-term, too) for under nine million per season.
That says a lot about the young Hutson.. just like the gesture he made in front of everyone live from Brossard today.

Lane Hutson: "I think every time you get to throw on this jersey it's special. Whether it's practice, games, pre-season, playoffs, it means so much to me, and it's pretty special I get to do it for a while now."
Once again, he's proven his sincerity with this beautiful contract extension for the Habs!
Hutson has one point in three games this season, but now that his contract situation is settled, he can finally focus on hockey again.
