We once again have NHL waiver wire activity today, as the start of the regular season is approaching very quickly.

While the Montreal Canadiens still hold the 16th claim position (16th priority) for waiver pickups, here's today's full list of available players:
Patrik Brown (Boston)

Michael Callahan (Boston)

Georgii Merkulov (Boston)

Victor Soderstrom (Boston)

Riley Tufte (Boston)

Givani Smith (Hurricanes)

Brandon Halverson (Lightning)

David Kampf (Maple Leafs / Main photo)

William Villeneuve (Maple Leafs)

Matt Villalta (Mammoth)

Nils Aman (Canucks)

Sheldon Rampal (Capitals)
So as you can tell, there are a few intriguing names.

Three players claimed on the NHL waiver wire

That said, three players were indeed claimed today in the NHL.
"Three NHL waiver claims on Friday:

Defenseman Daemon Hunt (CBJ to MIN)
Defenseman Ilya Solovyov (CGY to COL)
Forward Cole Schwindt (VGK to FLA)."

- Frank Seravalli
It's still surprising to see these three players claimed, while players like Brendan Brisson and Jakob Pelletier weren't, but I guess they don't fit similar roles.
Looking back at today's available players, David Kampf (536 NHL games), Quebec native William Villeneuve, and former 11th overall pick Victor Soderstrom seem to be the most interesting names!
More details to come.

Do you think Kaapo Kahkonen will be claimed on the NHL waiver wire (if he is indeed placed there)?
