Two Young Players Leave the Canadiens Organization to Sign Overseas
We're at that time of year when rosters are changing significantly throughout the Montreal Canadiens organization at every level.
We've seen changes with the Montreal Canadiens, we've seen changes with the Laval Rocket, and now there are also changes with the Trois-Rivières Lions.
Yesterday, we reported an acquisition for the Laval Rocket.
Make no mistake, we're talking about a player who was nearly a first-round pick in the 2020 draft.
Two Players Leave the Montreal Canadiens Organization
In addition to this acquisition, we also have two departures to announce.
As confirmed by the Trois-Rivières Lions, it's over for Xavier Cormier and Chris Jandric within the Montreal Canadiens organization.
Jandric will continue his career in Germany, while Cormier will head to Slovakia to play.
We wish them both the very best moving forward!
These were two of the Lions' top players - both of whom could have been solid options for the Laval Rocket.
Xavier Cormier, 24 years old, is a 5-foot-11, 185-pound forward who tallied 60 points in 68 games this season in Trois-Rivières (second-highest scorer on the team).
Chris Jandric, 26 years old, is a 5-foot-11, 181-pound defenseman who recorded an impressive 50 points in 54 games this season in Trois-Rivières (fourth-highest scorer on the team and top-scoring defenseman).
Jandric also played 10 games for the Laval Rocket.
