Another Blockbuster Trade Between Canadiens and Blues Was Negotiated but Ultimately Fell Through

As you know, the opening day of NHL free agency for Kent Hughes was marked by a trade completed with the St. Louis Blues.
The Montreal Canadiens traded young defenseman Logan Mailloux in exchange for young forward Zachary Bolduc.
But that's not all.
According to several reliable sources, including Pierre LeBrun, another major trade was indeed negotiated between the Montreal Canadiens and the St. Louis Blues.
The Montreal Canadiens seriously worked on a trade for Jordan Kyrou before acquiring Zachary Bolduc, and Logan Mailloux was involved

Afterward, Kyrou's full no-move clause went into effect.

So we can clearly forget about Kyrou, but let's just say Bolduc is still a fantastic acquisition!
And we even have a third source confirming the same information.
