Bruins Snag Promising Canadiens Prospect, Sign Him to Entry-Level Deal
This is significant because several sources indicated that Kent Hughes and the Canadiens had plans for Cavallin, but they simply couldn't beat the Bruins' offer.
Quietly, this is a big move for Cavallin!
He just signed nothing less than an NHL entry-level contract with Boston!
It's not a disaster, let's not exaggerate, but yes, it's a notable loss for the Montreal Canadiens organization in goal.
The Boston Bruins steal goaltender Luke Cavallin from the Montreal Canadiens
We're still extremely happy for him!
It will be Boston for Luke Cavallin on an NHL entry-level contract. He earned every bit of it by leading the Trois-Rivières Lions to the championship.
- Anthony Marcotte
The Trois-Rivières Lions have also officially confirmed his departure.
Thank you for everything, Cavy!
We wish you all the best in Boston for this new chapter with your NHL entry-level contract!
You deserved it, sweet Cavallin!
- Lions
Only 24 years old, Luke Cavallin is a 6-foot-1, 196-pound goaltender.
In 20 playoff games, he posted a 1.53 goals-against average and a .948 save percentage with a 15-5-0 record.. That's exceptional!
It will be interesting to follow his development with the Boston Bruins, but they clearly believe he could potentially become an NHL-caliber goaltender.
