SKA Makes Last-Minute Decision on Habs Prospect Ivan Demidov and Issues Official Announcement

We have an update regarding Montreal Canadiens prospect Ivan Demidov.
Just before the start of the KHL playoffs, and while many were hoping for a change in the situation, SKA has confirmed that the organization has officially decided to list Demidov as the 13th forward.
This is a surprising development-and a surprising decision-considering he is literally their best player.

It was announced at the last minute, just before SKA's game.
Ivan Demidov sidelined by his head coach in the KHL
It's not ideal, but at this point, it reduces the risk of injury, so it's not the worst news in the world for the Montreal Canadiens either.
"I get that Ivan Demidov isn't having the best stretch of his season, but using him as the 13th forward in the playoffs when he was your top scorer in the regular season.. that's madness!"

If SKA no longer needs Demidov's services, why not let him come finish the season with the Montreal Canadiens-likely for a decent sum of money?
This will be a situation to watch.
Demidov, only 19 years old, tallied 49 points in 65 games with SKA this season, including 19 goals. He actually finished first in team scoring, despite questionable usage all year and several games where he only saw 2-3 minutes of ice time.
His KHL contract technically runs through May 31, 2025.
