Beautiful Sight at Canadiens Practice as an Unexpected Surprise Hits the Ice
We got a nice surprise for the Montreal Canadiens, live from Brossard, in the past few minutes.
Martin St-Louis is getting reinforcements!
"Forward
Joshua Roy at Habs practice this morning after getting called up from AHL's Laval Rocket, along with defenceman
Marc Del Gaizo. Forward
Owen Beck was sent back down to Laval."
- Stu Cowan
That's the best news of the day for Martin St-Louis' squad!
Not only was Kirby Dach back, but he was already wearing a regular practice jersey.
"Kirby Dach is on ice this morning for Habs practice in Brossard."
- Stu Cowan
It's a very nice surprise.
That could also explain the roster moves announced earlier!
The Canadiens technically didn't add any forwards.
Yes, Joshua Roy was called up from the Laval Rocket, but Owen Beck was sent down to the American Hockey League, which seems to indicate that Dach has a real chance to return to play as soon as tomorrow night.
The Habs wouldn't leave for such a long road trip out West with only twelve healthy forwards.
Let's remember, of course, that the big number 77 didn't play on Saturday and hadn't been back on the ice since.
Kirby Dach, 24 years old, has 2 points in 5 games this season with the Canadiens, including one goal, and he has a positive +/- rating of +1.
He's averaged 14 minutes and 30 seconds of ice time per game this season.
Would Kirby Dach's return to play mean the end of
Zachary Bolduc's "punishment" on the fourth line?
Answers coming in the next few minutes.
