The Montreal Canadiens have made a last-minute announcement before heading out on their western road trip.

As we hinted last night, It's a significant announcement involving several players. First, note that defenseman Marc Del Gaizo has just been called up from the Laval Rocket, apparently to serve as the seventh defenseman for the Montreal Canadiens during the team's trip out West.
Secondly, and this one's a surprise. Forward Joshua Roy is back with the Canadiend.
He has just been called up by Kent Hughes, while young Owen Beck is headed in the opposite direction.
That's very interesting!
It was really unexpected, but Joshua Roy is getting a new (and final?) chance with the Montreal Canadiens.

See the official release.
"The Canadiens recalled forward Joshua Roy and defenseman Marc Del Gaizo from the Laval Rocket. Forward Owen Beck has been loaned to the Rocket."

Joshua Roy and Marc Del Gaizo will therefore be flying out West today with the Habs, while young Owen Beck will stay here and join the Laval Rocket.
Do you like this decision?
We can clearly see that youngsters Florian Xhekaj and Adam Engstrom were passed over, apparently because Kent Hughes prefers to see them take on big roles in Laval rather than playing supporting roles in Montreal.
The excellent Marco D'Amico also provides some good explanations here, and he has kind words for Joshua Roy (which may explain his call-up).
"The Canadiens reward Joshua Roy, who has been very noticeable in Laval for the last two weekends, with a callup.

Del Gaizo is brought in as an insurance policy. Adam Engstrom could also have had the call, but likely wouldn't have played."
