Patrik Laine Publicly Makes a Clear Request to Kent Hughes and the Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens' training camp is fast approaching, and we can't wait to see what Patrik Laine will bring to the table for the 2025-2026 season.
Acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets in the summer of 2024, the Finnish forward will be entering the final year of his contract worth $8.7 million, and he hasn't hesitated to make his intentions clear about his future with the Tricolore.
Patrik Laine's request to Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens is very clear: he wants to re-sign here!
In an interview with Anthony Martineau, a journalist at TVA Sports, the 29-year-old athlete stated that if it were up to him, he wants to stay with the Canadiens.

Although there haven't yet been any official discussions between Kent Hughes and Laine's camp, the door certainly seems open for him to continue his association with the Canadiens.
This will definitely be an interesting storyline to follow throughout the regular season.
As for the upcoming season on the ice, number 92 is very confident in the team's ability to meet expectations this year, and he believes strongly in the group of players already in place.

There's no hiding that if Laine hopes to remain with the Canadiens long-term, he will need to show more consistency in his play.
After scoring at will upon his return in December last season, the veteran struggled down the stretch, so much so that Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis didn't hesitate to bench him in certain games.
