Multiple Rumors Swirl Around Sam Montembeault's Injury as Fears of the Worst Grow

Let's first recall that Montembeault left Friday night's game in pain and has not returned to the ice since.
The Montreal Canadiens are expected to provide an official update today, but according to what I've been told, and according to what Marc-Olivier Beaudoin was told by two sources, it would indeed be two tears in Monty's thigh.
An absence of several weeks, at minimum, for Samuel Montembeault
Nothing has been confirmed yet by the Montreal Canadiens, so let's keep this at the rumor stage, but this seems to be the situation.
"Without full confirmation, Samuel Montembeault is believed to have two tears in his thigh. He has been recommended 14 days of rest and a gradual return to training."
- Marc-Olivier Beaudoin
The chances of seeing him back in uniform during the 2025 playoffs would therefore be very slim.
Rest assured, we will keep you updated with any developments on this matter, but these are not very good news.
Also, remember that according to the last update from the organization, Martin St-Louis described Montembeault as "day-to-day," but during the playoffs, that designation doesn't mean much.
It simply meant that Monty needed to undergo more thorough evaluations.
Also, according to radio host and journalist Jeremy Filosa, Sam Montembeault did not even travel with the team to Washington for tomorrow's do-or-die Game 5.
"All Canadiens players are traveling to Washington except for Montembeault. Alex Carrier remains questionable for tomorrow."
- Jeremy Filosa
At 28 years old, the 6-foot-3, 218-pound goaltender Samuel Montembeault has a record of 0-1-1 in the 2025 playoffs, with a goals-against average of 2.76 and a save percentage of .908.
He had been excellent over the past few weeks.
More details to follow once everything gets confirmed!
