Cole Caufield Sparks Injury Scare at Practice After Violent Collision With Boards
The Canadiens' star forward had quite a scare, as he crashed heavily into the boards during a drill, but fortunately, he appears to have escaped without injury.
The excellent Marc-Olivier Cook (DansLesCoulisses) is on site and describes it as a "very nasty fall in the corner of the rink," and as he mentions, the Canadiens really couldn't afford to lose Caufield on top of everything else, but everything seems to be OK.
A Good Scare for Cole Caufield
You can imagine it was a frightening scene for all the Canadiens players and coaches to witness, but thankfully it seems to have been more fear than harm for number 13.
As a reminder, at the time of writing, the Montreal Canadiens are practicing live from Brossard before flying to Washington for tomorrow night's Game 5.
Cole Caufield, 24 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 175 pounds, recorded 70 points in 82 games this season, including 37 goals, and has developed into a very complete player (positive plus-minus of +9).
This season was also the first of his NHL career where he finished in the positive.
In these 2025 playoffs, Caufield has 4 points in 4 games, including three goals.
