As we reported yesterday, a sanction was issued to Montreal Canadiens forward Josh Anderson by the NHL Department of Player Safety.
Well, thanks to a classy gesture and a great initiative launched by BPM Sports host Max Lalonde, Anderson ultimately won't have to pay (nor will the Montreal Canadiens).
Let's remember that Anderson was indeed fined due to the following incident.
All the details are in the article below.
In short, we are talking about a $5,000 fine.
In response to this fine, Max Lalonde decided to launch a
GoFundMe to prevent Anderson from having to pay, because according to many, Anderson shouldn't have to pay for taking care of
Tom Wilson.
A Classy Gesture to Keep Josh Anderson From Paying His Fine
Here's the core of his message.
"5000 people each give $1 and it's done! Let's go! You shouldn't have to pay for beating up Tom Wilson!"
And the post in question:
You can imagine the movement quickly gained momentum and many fans chipped in!
Please note that, as Max Lalonde clearly stated, if they end up collecting more than $5,000 (the amount of the fine), all excess funds will be donated to a foundation for a good cause.
I already can't wait for Wednesday, for Game 5 between the Montreal Canadiens and the Washington Capitals.
It's likely to get heated once again, especially between Josh Anderson and Tom Wilson.
