We had quite a bit of action this morning with the Montreal Canadiens.
Laine and Dach now have a new winger on the second line, and that winger is none other than the new acquisition
Zachary Bolduc.
The Montreal Canadiens also announce a physical change for Patrik Laine
Today, the Habs organization officially released the updated measurements for their players, and there are a few interesting changes.
Notably,
Arber Xhekaj is now listed at 236 pounds, while Patrik Laine is now listed at 218 pounds.
The forward Laine had last been listed at 208 pounds.. which means he gained 10 pounds this summer!
Could a slightly bigger Patrik Laine play a more physical game this season?
That could be an interesting tool to add to his toolkit, and it would certainly be useful for the Habs' second line-something to keep an eye on as the season begins.
Also note that while some sources list Patrik Laine at 6-foot-5, according to the Canadiens' official measurements, he is in fact 6-foot-4.
Patrik Laine, 27 years old, recorded 33 points, including 20 goals, in 52 games last season (his first with the Montreal Canadiens).
He earns 8.7 million per year until July 1, 2026.
