Insider Elliotte Friedman has just reported major news involving the Montreal Canadiens and forward Alexandre Texier.
According to Friedman, the Montreal Canadiens are now considered the favourites to land Texier.
"The word around the league right now is that the favourite is absolutely the Montreal Canadiens." - Friedman
This lines up with the report we had earlier this Saturday afternoon.
All signs point to forward Alexandre Texier becoming a Montreal Canadiens player soon
The official announcement could come as early as Sunday!
Texier, 26, is a fast 6-foot-1, 196-pound forward who was a second-round pick by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2017.
He has a solid 91 points in 240 career NHL games, including 40 goals, and he recorded 11 points (in 31 games), 30 points (in 78 games), and 20 points (in 36 games) over the last few seasons.
For those who want to listen to the full segment, it's right here:
"Montreal considered the favourite to land Alex Texier once his contract is terminated tomorrow, per Elliotte Friedman on his Saturday Headlines segment."

This is getting exciting!
Clearly, this looks like the end of Joshua Roy's stay with the Montreal Canadiens, as he is likely to be sent down to the Laval Rocket (especially if Texier does indeed arrive).
More details to come.
