This Monday morning on BPM Sports, journalist Renaud Lavoie revealed several interesting details regarding forward Alexandre Texier.

In particular, we learned that the new Montreal Canadiens forward was not a favourite of his former head coach with the St. Louis Blues, Jim Montgomery.
It's also worth noting that Montgomery has several connections within the Canadiens' management, and despite not being particularly high on Texier, the Habs still chose to sign him.
Anyway, Renaud Lavoie also issued a warning to Texier.

Renaud Lavoie reveals that Alexandre Texier's spot with the Montreal Canadiens is far from guaranteed: he will have to prove himself

Here's an excerpt of what the insider said on BPM Sports.
"He's going to have to prove himself!

He's not going to show up and get a free pass."

- Renaud Lavoie

He added that everything will depend on Texier's current physical condition, given that he hasn't played in three weeks.
Renaud Lavoie also said he is really not convinced that Texier will necessarily play in the game against the Utah Mammoth. We will have to wait and see St-Louis' decision.
The journalist believes Texier will absolutely get his chance, but he better take advantage of it.
The ball is in his court, but after what happened in St. Louis (with the Blues and with Jim Montgomery), let's just say Texier has every reason to quickly prove Kent Hughes right for giving him that solid contract.
