First decision made on Texier as he hits the ice with the Canadiens for the first time
As just reported by RDS journalist Patrick Friolet, a first decision has already been made regarding Alexandre Texier.
A first decision for Alexandre Texier
As several journalists, including Patrick Friolet (RDS), have just reported, Texier has chosen his new jersey number.
The new Montreal Canadiens forward has chosen number 85.
Alexandre Texier will wear #85 with the Canadiens. He's only the third player in team history to wear it, after Morgan Ellis (2016) and Mathieu Perreault (2022). - Vincent Duquette
We even have the first images of Texier in the Canadiens uniform, live from Brossard:
We can't wait to see him in action, that's for sure! Texier, 26 years old, is a speedy 6-foot-1, 196-pound forward, a second-round pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2017.
He has a solid 91 points in 240 career NHL games, including 40 goals, and he collected 11 points (in 31 games), 30 points (in 78 games), and 20 points (in 36 games) over the past seasons.
The next step will be seeing which line Martin St-Louis places him on, and who will be pushed out to make room for Texier.
We will have answers to all these questions shortly, and rest assured that we will keep you updated on every detail and development.
