Canadiens prospect flying under the radar is starting to turn heads

There is a Montreal Canadiens prospect that no one is talking about, but who is having a strong start to the season in the Western Hockey League.
It is Bryce Pickford, a right-shot offensive defenseman who plays with the Medicine Hat Tigers. The player selected in the third round by Kent Hughes last June has surprised everyone!

Pickford even recorded a three-point performance in his first game this season, and insider Marc-Olivier Beaudoin did not hesitate to share it on social media a few weeks ago.

And yet, few people talk about him.
When it comes time to mention blue-line prospects within the Canadiens organization, his name is not the first that comes to mind, but things could very well change over the next few years.
Indeed, Bryce Pickford, who is 19 years old, possesses several qualities that could allow him to find success in the NHL: strong skating, excellent vision, and a certain ease in playing under pressure.
In 2024-2025, he collected 20 goals and 27 assists (47 points) in 48 games with the Tigers, but he really elevated his game during the playoffs, recording an impressive total of 24 points, including 13 goals, in just 18 games.
This season, he has 24 points in 23 games including an impressive 12 goals.
Pickford also played a key role in winning the Ed Chynoweth Cup, a victory that sent Medicine Hat to the Memorial Cup held in Rimouski last spring.
