We have an update regarding Montreal Canadiens goaltender Samuel Montembeault. Of course, while we await the official announcement from the Habs, we're here for you and keeping a close eye on every little clue.
Here's an interesting one, and it's good news.
First, it's important to know that Martin St-Louis declared a day off for everyone today.
However, some players still showed up at the rink.
As reported by the excellent Charles-Alexis Brisebois, some players still made an appearance in Brossard today, and if Cayden Primeau were needed for a call-up, he would have been there - but he was notably absent.
He still hasn't been recalled by the Canadiens.
"A practice goalie is on site.
Jakub Dobes came by briefly but then left.
No
Patrik Laine, Samuel Montembeault, or Cayden Primeau, therefore [interesting]."
- Charles-Alexis Brisebois
Knowing that the Canadiens play as soon as tomorrow night, and at 6:30 PM no less, understand that if there were an urgent need, Cayden Primeau would absolutely already have been recalled.
In other words, if the organization had already determined that Samuel Montembeault had no chance of playing tomorrow night, Cayden Primeau would already be back.
