The Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets have agreed to a blockbuster trade involving center Pierre-Luc Dubois
According to a report from journalist Murat Ates, who is extremely well connected with the Winnipeg Jets' management, the situation has just taken a huge step forward.
The Los Angeles Kings and the Winnipeg Jets have agreed on a trade involving Pierre-Luc Dubois. However, that does not mean the transaction is official at this stage.
For the transaction to be official, Dubois must agree to an eight-year contract with the Kings.
There were two big steps in this matter.
1) Find common ground between the Jets' General Manager and the Kings' for the trade.
2) Dubois signing an 8-year contract with his new team (major condition for the trade).
We are at step two. It's big, but it's also an important step. The "trade" part is settled, but there's still the "8-year contract" part.
According to solid sources, the Kings would be sending Gabe Vilardi and Alex Iafallo, among others, to the Jets.
For Dubois to be negotiating a contract with the Kings, it indeed means that Los Angeles and Winnipeg have agreed on a trade!
If Dubois agrees with the Kings on a contract extension, the trade will become official.
More details will follow.
