The Bruins have just announced some terrible news involving Marchand
In the last few seconds, the Boston Bruins have made an announcement involving forward Brad Marchand.
Their captain, their best player since the start of the playoffs (except for goaltender Jeremy Swayman) was not even able to jump on the ice today, due to the injury he suffered last night against the Florida Panthers. Ouch.
This is the worst news for Bruins fans.
It's confirmed: Brad Marchand is injured following the hit from Bennett
Take a look at their new power play units, without their captain.
«PP1: McAvoy, Pastrnak, DeBrusk, Coyle, van Riemsdyk
PP2: Lohrei, Geekie, Heinen, Zacha, Brazeau»
Things really don't look good for the next game.

«Injured during game no. 3, Bruins captain Brad Marchand was notably absent from his team's practice on Saturday.
Struck hard by Sam Bennett during the early moments of the game, Marchand left the game after the second period as his team was trailing 3 to 0. He did not play the third period and the Bruins eventually capitalized to a score of 6 to 2.» - TVA Sports Coach Montgomery confirmed the worst, Marchand is listed as day-to-day:
Boston coach Jim Montgomery said Marchand is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, but was upset about the hit and apparent punch from Sam Bennett adding there's a history with him and «evidence of what went on.»
Florida's Paul Maurice defended his player, saying he didn't see it the same way.
If Marchand indeed has to be absent, it would obviously be a very heavy loss for them, and it could smell like the end.
Marchand, 36, has accumulated 929 points and 1051 penalty minutes in his NHL career, in 1029 regular season games.
He has added 138 points in 156 playoff games, as well as 159 penalty minutes. This season, in these 2024 playoffs, he has collected 10 points in 10 games, in addition to really stepping up his game.
