The Montreal Canadiens have just made a very sad announcement involving forward Rafaël Harvey-Pinard.
The player, who was preparing for the most important training camp of his career and was at risk of losing his place in the Habs' lineup, has just suffered a serious injury.
The Canadiens announce that Rafaël Harvey-Pinard has undergone surgery and will miss a minimum of 4 months of activities
He will unfortunately miss a significant portion of the 2024-25 season.
Forward Rafaël Harvey-Pinard underwent successful surgery on Thursday after suffering a broken leg. The recovery period for the 25-year-old winger is estimated to be four months.
In fact, it seems he has played his last game in 2024.
This injury comes at literally the worst possible time for RHP, and we are so sad for him.
TSLH is reporting that Rafael Harvey-Pinard recently suffered an injury to his right knee during a recent sporting event with current & recent Rocket players.
Harvey-Pinard was in uniform for only 45 games last season due to a couple of lower-body injuries that forced him to miss significant amount of action.
This could be bad news for the forward as his roster spot for the upcoming season was far from being locked in. It must be very difficult for Rafaël right now.
This injury obviously opens the door for Joshua Roy, Owen Beck, Emil Heineman, or another player (Florian Xhekaj?) to take his place with the Montreal Canadiens.
The details will follow
