Successful Acquisition for Kent Hughes and the Canadiens: 'For Two Years, He Was our Best player'

New York Rangers forward Gabriel Perreault had plenty to say about an acquisition made by the Montreal Canadiens in 2023.
It's safe to say today that it was a successful one!
With the 69th overall pick in the 2023 draft (third round), the Canadiens selected goaltender Jacob Fowler.
In a recent interview with TVA Sports, Perreault praised this addition by Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton.

Perreault was a teammate of Fowler's, notably at Boston College:
"For two years, he was our best player.
He was excellent for us.
The Canadiens will have a good goalie for a long time."

He calls Fowler the best player on a team that also featured names like Will Smith, Ryan Leonard, and Cutter Gauthier.. That says a lot!
Perreault continued:
"Yes, he was that good.
He won us so many games.
He always shows up to the rink with the same mindset.
He wants to win, and he will win."

Perreault also added that Jacob Fowler is a funny, enjoyable teammate who is extremely well-liked in the locker room.
Yes, it's already fair to say that the Canadiens struck gold with the acquisition of Jacob Fowler.
