We have a breaking news announcement involving the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Leafs have just claimed goaltender Cayden Primeau as well as forward Samuel Blais off NHL waivers.
Just a few hours after being placed on waivers by Kent Hughes and the Canadiens, Samuel Blais is now immediately heading to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

This is quite a big surprise, considering that many sources had recently stated the chances of Blais being claimed were slim.

It's unfortunate, because Blais really could have been excellent with the Laval Rocket, and he would have been a strong call-up option for the Canadiens if needed.

We still want to wish the best of luck to Sammy Blais (and Cayden Primeau) with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
It will be special to see them in uniform, if confirmed, in less than 48 hours against the Montreal Canadiens.
