Forward Evander Kane of the Edmonton Oilers is known for making headlines, and generally, not for the right reasons.
Once again last night, he sparked controversy with two particular actions.
First, in the final minutes of the game, Kane delivered two vicious and completely unnecessary slashes to
Matthew Tkachuk, despite the series already being decided.
As a result, he was sent to the locker room to finish the game.
Secondly, Kane never came back out from the locker room to shake hands with the Florida Panthers players. And based on what he had to say afterward, it seems clear he had no interest in congratulating certain Panthers players.
Wow. It's really rare to see that.
Usually, no matter how intense a series gets, everyone ends it with respect and a sincere handshake.
A regrettable scene involving Evander Kane at the end of the game
It wasn't exactly a classy move from the Oilers forward.
After receiving a 10-min misconduct late in the 3rd period, Evander Kane never returned for handshakes after the final horn
Unsurprisingly, his actions were harshly criticized on social media.
"Evander Kane never came out for the handshake line after being ejected late in the game."
