The excellent Connor McDavid suffered another crushing disappointment last night, falling once again in the Stanley Cup Final.

In his post-game press conference, he was clearly extremely disappointed-and he took the opportunity to send a surprising message to his head coach.
For one of the rare times, McDavid gave a rather blunt response in front of the media and took a not-so-subtle jab at Kris Knoblauch.

Connor McDavid Sends a Message During Press Conference

Here's a snippet from the exchange in question:
"Reporter: What was the difference in this series?

McDavid: Their forecheck was excellent, they tilted the ice in their favor.

They managed to dominate us in every area.

We never really managed to gain momentum on the ice.

We kept f***in trying the same thing over and over again, banging our heads against the wall.

We kept saying we wanted to win 2-1 games.

Obviously, we never figured out how to do it..."
And he let a few not-so-choice words slip in the process.
The one who kept repeating that they needed to win 2-1 games? Yes, that was Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch.
It sparked plenty of reactions online.
Of course, it's important to consider that this was a response given in the heat of the moment.
You can absolutely understand why No. 97 is fed up with not being able to win the Stanley Cup, despite his incredible playoff performances.
