A very interesting rumor is currently circulating about former Montreal Canadiens forward Corey Perry.
On the airwaves of Daily Faceoff, the very connected Jeff Marek mentioned the Anaheim Ducks as a particularly fascinating team right now.
According to Marek, they could seriously sign
Mitch Marner and they could seriously sign
John Tavares - but that's not all..
Possible Signing and Homecoming for Corey Perry After Stanley Cup Final Loss?
It's a rumor that's currently going around, and it's also a possibility that Jeff Marek brought up.
"Because when a well-connected guy like Jeff Marek wonders if Perry could finish his career where it all began, you have to understand he's not necessarily talking nonsense."
- Charles-Alexis Brisebois, who points out that it doesn't mean it's going to happen.
Still, it's a very intriguing rumor.
We know Corey Perry seems to be a very nostalgic person, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him return to a team that was significant in his life and career.
Now 40 years old, the 6-foot-3, 208-pound forward is still playing at a very respectable level. He's still producing and clearly helping his team.
This season with Edmonton, he recorded 30 points in 81 games, including 19 goals. More impressively, he added 14 points in 22 games during the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Unfortunately, it ended in another heartbreak-his fifth Finals loss in six years.
