What happened isn't too complicated... The young Mailloux's bad habits resurfaced - he caused two major turnovers in the defensive zone, one of which was especially costly for the Blues - and his head coach immediately had to step in...
Logan Mailloux Was Benched by His New Head Coach with the St. Louis Blues
Let's just say the message was very clear.
"I know that many people don't like it when we negatively analyze one, two, or three games of a hockey player, but I'm going to do it anyway: Logan Mailloux is having a very difficult start to the season in St. Louis.
0 points and minus -3 in 2 games this season. He was even benched last night.
It's quite something to see that Mailloux had an incredible training camp with the Blues but a very tough start to the season - while it's the complete opposite for Zack Bolduc, who had a quieter camp in Montreal but is now having an outstanding regular season start with 3 goals in 3 games.
Both players are still very young, so Mailloux still has plenty of time to make his general manager look better - but for now, it's clearly advantage Kent Hughes in this particular trade.
Could the next step for Mailloux already be the press box?
