We have a second major signing announcement from the Montreal Canadiens today. This time it involves Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes.
What's a bit special here is that, unlike the Lane Hutson signing, we have a double signing to announce!
Second major signing announcement in two days for the Montreal Canadiens
Here's an excerpt from the Canadiens' official press release:
"Montreal Canadiens Owner, President and Chief Executive Officer Geoff Molson announced on Tuesday that the team has agreed to terms on multi-year contract extensions with hockey executive Jeff Gorton, as well as with General Manager Kent Hughes.
Molson also announced that Gorton became President of Hockey Operations. Both executives were in the final year of their previous contracts."

We're talking here about a five-year contract for Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton with the Montreal Canadiens!
Geoff Molson also released a statement on the signing of his trusted men:
"I am very pleased that Jeff and Kent have committed to the Montreal Canadiens for an additional five years.
Their commitment to building a world class organization has been unrelenting and will only get better as we progress in the years to come.
