Tony Marinaro Shuts Down Any Hutson-for-Sanderson Trade Talk With Clear Arguments
The excellent Tony Marinaro has indeed closed the door on any trade talk between the Montreal Canadiens and the Ottawa Senators, involving two players.
In the media world, there are trade proposals meant to put forward concrete ideas, realistic and logical transactions.. And there are also trade talks that simply aim to spark discussion.
Tony Marinaro's recent trade talk falls into the second category.
"Let's end this debate once and for all!
If you could trade Lane Hutson for Jake Sanderson, would you do it?"
- Tony Marinaro
And see the excellent response from observer Marc-Olivier Beaudoin.
"I wouldn't but I also understand why Sens fans wouldn't trade Sanderson for Hutson.
They are both incredibly young talented dmen but with different styles. And it's okay to better like Sanderson's style. Like it's okay to better like Hutson's style.
They're both studs."
I believe that sums it all up very well.
Jake Sanderson, 23 years old, is a left-handed defenseman, 6-foot-2 and 204 pounds, who was the 5th overall pick of the Ottawa Senators in 2020.
He recorded 57 points in 80 games last season, with a -14 rating.
