The Montreal Canadiens are going through a rough patch, and so are their goalies Jakub Dobes and Samuel Montembeault.

Dobes has been shaky, while Montembeault is showing clear signs of fatigue.
Meanwhile, goalie Primeau is absolutely phenomenal in the AHL with the Laval Rocket, and he's practically unbeatable.
Since being sent down to the Rocket, Primeau has a record of 16 wins, just 2 losses, and one overtime loss, with a goals-against average of 2.13 and a save percentage of .916.
Several journalists who recently spoke to him even said he's not the same player anymore and that his confidence has been completely renewed.
Knowing this, is it time for Kent Hughes to make a move?
Does Primeau deserve his shot?
Could he come in and give this team the spark it desperately needs (just like Dobes did a few months ago)?
Many of us believe so, including journalist Jeremy Filosa.

Return of Cayden Primeau to the Montreal Canadiens to finish the season: an inevitable solution according to Jeremy Filosa

Check out his explanation.
"I stand by what I said last week.

Samuel Montembeault is starting to show signs of fatigue, and that's completely normal. He's being asked to do a lot this season, he's playing as much as some of the NHL's established elite goalies.

It seems pretty clear that St-Louis doesn't have much confidence in Dobes. The young man has barely played since the break. What kind of shape will he be in when he's thrown back into the mix? This is a situation that could end up costing the Canadiens a playoff spot.

In my opinion, Montreal needs to call up Primeau, who's been absolutely on fire in the AHL since being sent down to Laval. He's rebuilt his confidence and is clearly a better option than Dobes right now to back up Montembeault.

If Dobes is part of the Canadiens' long-term plans, he needs to play meaningful games. Give him the starting role in Laval so he can experience the end of the season and the playoffs as the Rocket's number one goalie.

Meanwhile, even if Primeau only plays 3-4 games in the NHL, if he gives the Canadiens a chance to win, that could be the difference between making the playoffs or not."

And you, do you like the idea?
As Filosa from 98.5 Sports mentions, Primeau is literally tearing up the AHL since being sent down to Laval. He's rebuilt his confidence and is definitely a better option than Dobes right now to back up Samuel.
It's far from an easy decision, but the question absolutely needs to be asked right now, especially considering Dobes would also be a strong presence for the Laval Rocket.
