Kent Hughes Reportedly Exploring Trade Options for Young Canadiens Forward
For a second year in a row, Joshua Roy's training camp with the Montreal Canadiens was cut rather abruptly with a demotion to Laval.
The young forward from Beauce once again missed his chance to prove to Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton that he belongs within the organization, but that doesn't mean the Canadiens' management doesn't believe in his potential.
According to a well-known insider, Joshua Roy's name came up during the summer in certain trade rumors.

Despite all his offensive talent, Joshua Roy is probably a victim of the Canadiens' forward depth, and it seems several young players in the organization have passed him in the hierarchy.
That said, Joshua Roy still showed his offensive potential in 2023-2024 with 9 points in 23 games with the Canadiens, but at the following training camp, he failed to seize his chance to earn a spot with the big club to start the 2024-2025 season.
It looks like history is repeating itself this year, and it will be interesting to see if he'll be the first player called back up.
