An interesting new piece of information has just surfaced regarding the NHL trade market, and it involves Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.

As we reported in recent hours, a notable top-6 forward has officially been placed on the trade block by the Minnesota Wild.
That said, we're now learning that the Canadiens reportedly haven't shown the slightest interest in Rossi (likely due to his 5-foot-9 stature).

The Montreal Canadiens Have Shown No Interest in Marco Rossi, According to Two Sources

This is surprising, but it speaks volumes about the intentions of Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton.
They want to get bigger.
Of course, things could always change during the offseason, but for now, we can probably scratch Rossi's name off the list.
"According to Jimmy Murphy, Marco Rossi is very much on the block for the Minnesota Wild, with chatter expected to pick up next week.

Flyers, Sabres, Penguins and Blackhawks are among the teams to have already shown interest, with the field expected to expand.

The Habs' absence from this list is not surprising; Martin St. Louis already has enough small players to coach.

We saw in the playoffs that you can have one, two, or maybe three small players - but not 17!"

So this is a situation we'll have to keep an eye on, but it's likely safe to forget about it.
Since it's now clear that Rossi likely won't be the Canadiens' solution as Ivan Demidov's center, what name would you suggest?
Because unlike some people, I don't think going back to a combination of Kirby Dach and Alex Newhook at center for Demidov is a great idea, especially if the Canadiens want to win a playoff round next year.
