I love Montreal Canadiens defenseman Alexandre Carrier. Not only has he turned out to be an incredible acquisition for Kent Hughes on the ice, but he also seems to bring a lot to the locker room.

Carrier was recently interviewed on RDS, and true to form, he was excellent.
Carrier is quite unique in interviews and press conferences, in the sense that he's incredibly transparent and says exactly what he thinks, but he does it simply because he speaks to the media the same way he would talk to his friends.
He steers clear of clichés, has absolutely no malice, and isn't stiff in interviews, unlike some other players.

Alexandre Carrier Delivers a Great Interview on RDS

One of the standout quotes from Carrier on L'Antichambre was the following:
"Alexandre Carrier has a good example of this because in the first period of Game 1 of the playoffs, Kaiden Guhle turned to the Quebecer and told him how fast the game was in the playoffs." - DLC

But that's not all.
Carrier didn't hold back in saying the Canadiens lacked grit and sandpaper in the playoffs.
And on that topic, Carrier shared his opinion.

When Luc Bellemare asked what the team was missing, the Quebecer (who also said the team wasn't outclassed by Washington) said:

"We talked a lot about physical play during our series.

Do I think we're lacking physicality?

I think we were missing a bit of grit, of sandpaper."

And indeed, Carrier is in a perfect position to send that message.
Will Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton hear that message and add more sandpaper to the Canadiens' lineup for next season?
