Hughes Drops Major Hint About the Likely Departure of a Key Member in the Canadiens Organization

As you know, a key member of the Montreal Canadiens organization is likely to leave this summer.
Unlike most typical departures within an organization, this one might happen simply because the person in question is too good and too qualified.
We're obviously talking about Pascal Vincent.
The topic came up during the press conference with Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton, and both executives gave a fairly clear hint about their intentions.
They will not stand in Pascal Vincent's way if another NHL team wants to hire him as a head coach (which is very likely to happen, unfortunately for us).
Kent Hughes will not stop Pascal Vincent from getting another opportunity to become a head coach in the NHL
Vincent, who has done an incredible job with the Canadiens' prospects and continues to do so during the AHL playoffs, will certainly be in high demand.
In fact, Pascal Vincent was also named Coach of the Year in the American Hockey League.
That kind of recognition draws attention from other NHL teams.
This will be a major storyline to follow this summer, but unfortunately, I'd be surprised to see Pascal Vincent return to the Laval Rocket.
He absolutely deserves another shot in the NHL, and I truly believe he'll get it.
One thing's for sure: Kent Hughes won't stand in his way. He's made his decision.
We've been lucky to have him with the Laval Rocket to help develop the Canadiens' players of tomorrow.
Vincent posted a record of 48-19-0-5 this season in Laval.
