We have a major development concerning former Montreal Canadiens captain Max Pacioretty.
That means, seven years after being traded by the Canadiens in exchange for (among others)
Nick Suzuki, Pacioretty's time is now done.
Teams showed interest in him this summer, but it seems he has truly moved on.
In fact, he has already found another job.
"Despite interest from multiple clubs over the summer, Max Pacioretty appears to be hanging up his skates.
He is now working with the University of Michigan."
- Nick Alberga
He is, of course, still a hugely popular and recognized name in Montreal.
It looks like it's over for Max Pacioretty, and he has decided to retire from the NHL
Injuries really didn't spare him at the end of his career
"Sounds like former Canadiens captain Max Pacioretty is retiring. It must have been a frustrating tail-end to his career, mired in injuries. I hope that he found catharsis in his final season."
- Andrew Zadarnowski
Max Pacioretty, age 36, finishes with 681 points, including 335 goals, in 939 career NHL games.
He spent the bulk of his career with the Montreal Canadiens (2008-2018).
Last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, he posted 13 points in 37 regular-season games, along with a strong 8 points in 11 playoff games.
He's still more than capable of helping a team, but it's totally understandable that he'd want to give his body some rest.
