We are all waiting to see whether or not the National Hockey League will impose sanctions following what happened between the Habs and the Sens in Quebec.

Well, regarding sanctions "to come" by the NHL, due to the actions taken between the Canadiens and the Senators last night, the excellent journalist Eric Engels has just revealed that he expects fines to be handed out.
Engels is always very well informed when it comes to fines or suspensions about to be announced by the NHL, so we can absolutely rely on him.

The NHL will announce sanctions in the form of fines following last night's game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Ottawa Senators

Barring a big surprise, you should indeed expect FINES to be announced by the National Hockey League in the coming hours, and not suspensions or other measures.
We can easily imagine that one of those fines will be handed to forward Nick Cousins, who clearly and deliberately tried to seriously injure young Ivan Demidov.
"Expecting some fines following last night's debacle in Quebec City."

Two other Sens players would certainly deserve fines.
We're thinking of Hayden Hodgson:
Do you believe that simple fines (if confirmed) are enough for such actions in a preseason game?
More details to follow.
