Things are really not going well for Montreal Canadiens goaltender Samuel Montembeault, and some of his teammates are starting to worry about him.
Even Mike Matheson doesn't necessarily want to see Samuel Montembeault in net tonight
Here's an excerpt from DLC's article on the topic.
"Yesterday, Mike Matheson even gave his opinion on what's going on with the goalies.
As Renaud Lavoie said on BPM Sports earlier this morning, the defenseman said that Monty might need a few days off."

I want to insist on this point.
No, Mike Matheson does not seem to want to see Samuel Montembeault in net tonight, but it has nothing to do with his confidence in his goalie.
It's simply an act of kindness from a friend and a veteran who simply believes his goalie probably needs a short break to refocus and hit a little "reset."
"We're just giving up way too much: odd man rushes, breakaways, point blank shots in the slot. No matter how your goalie's feeling, that's not gonna help them. We gotta fix that, we gotta find a way to stop it."

We will have the details in the next few minutes, but don't be surprised if
Jakub Dobes is sent in net Saturday night, at home, against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Samuel Montembeault, 29 years old, has a 4-5-1 record this season, with a goals-against average of 3.71 and a save percentage of .852.
Jakub Dobes, 24 years old, has a 6-2-2 record this season, with a goals-against average of 2.96 and a save percentage of .892.
