Canadiens Organization Confirms Goalie Departure, and a Playoff MVP May Be Next in Line

One player has officially left the Montreal Canadiens organization as of yesterday, during this 2025 offseason.
We suspected it, but the Laval Rocket has now confirmed that goaltender
Connor Hughes is heading to Lausanne.
That said, we clearly won't have to wait long to find out who his replacement will be.
According to several sources, Luke Cavallin could be the new backup goalie for the Laval Rocket (and the new number-four goalie in the Canadiens organization).
Luke Cavallin to replace Connor Hughes?
Don't be surprised if this is officially announced soon.
Let's not forget that the Trois-Rivières Lions just won the Kelly Cup, awarded to the ECHL's championship team-and that championship was made possible largely thanks to Cavallin's brilliance.
He clearly deserves his shot in the AHL now.
"Cavallin was simply on fire throughout the playoffs, earning playoff MVP honors, along with being named all three stars of the championship game after making 48 saves."
Mathis Therrien
I'm really curious to see if this is what ends up happening, but Cavallin is definitely a name to remember for fans of the Montreal Canadiens organization.
In 20 playoff games, he posted a 1.53 goals-against average and a .948 save percentage (with a 15-5-0 record).. That's outstanding!
