For the second day in a row, a young Montreal Canadiens defenseman has earned an individual honor.
This time, it's obviously much less significant than
Lane Hutson's Calder Trophy, but it's still a promising sign for the future.
Young
Logan Mailloux has just been named to the AHL All-Rookie Team, which is obviously great news for him!
This had been rumored for several days, but it has now been officially confirmed.
Good news for Canadiens defenseman Logan Mailloux
See the official announcement right here:
In his second season in the American Hockey League with the Laval Rocket, Mailloux recorded 12 goals and 21 assists for a total of 33 points in 63 games, with a positive plus-minus of +5.
He also tallied six points in 13 playoff games. Beyond the numbers, he truly stood out during the postseason over the past few weeks.
In his first season in Laval, Mailloux had 47 points in 72 games (14 goals), but with a negative plus-minus of -8, so there's clear progress in that area.
A trade involving Logan Mailloux this summer?
I'm really looking forward to seeing what the future holds for Mailloux, especially now that he has reportedly just been placed on the NHL trade market:
Do you think trading him right away would be a mistake?
