We have an important last-minute announcement from the Montreal Canadiens.

Forward Jared Davidson has just been called up from the Laval Rocket, and he's arriving as reinforcement in Martin St-Louis' lineup!

Jared Davidson arrives as reinforcement in Montreal

If he continues to play the way he has with the Laval Rocket since the start of the season, I get the feeling he could stay here much longer than expected.
Here is the official confirmation from the Habs:
"The Canadiens have recalled forward Jared Davidson from the Laval Rocket."

- Montreal Canadiens
This is the first time in a while that it's not Joshua Roy or Owen Beck being called up by the Canadiens when needed.
And that's not all!
This call-up of Davidson all but confirms that Alex Newhook's injury is serious and that he'll miss time after crashing into the boards during yesterday's 7-0 loss to the Stars.
Jared Davidson, 23 years old, has collected 11 points in 13 games this season under Pascal Vincent, including 9 goals in 13 games!
Last season, the Montreal Canadiens' 2022 fifth-round pick put up 45 points in 69 games, still with the Laval Rocket.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what he can accomplish in Newhook's absence, as it could certainly motivate the Canadiens' forward group by bringing in a new, energetic presence.
More details to come.
Update
The Canadiens announced that Alex Newhook has suffered a fractured ankle and already undergone surgery. His recovery is expected to take at least four months.
