Canadiens issue late update as Martin St-Louis names starter against Bruins
We have a last-minute announcement from the Montreal Canadiens regarding the goaltenders.
At his press conference in the last few minutes, head coach Martin St-Louis confirmed a change.
It will be Samuel Montembeault, who will be in net for his team tomorrow night against the Boston Bruins!
He therefore replaces young Jakub Dobes, who was the starter last night!
Goaltending change for the Montreal Canadiens: Samuel Montembeault replaces Jakub Dobes
Dobby will therefore have to wait before making people forget his more difficult performance from last night.
"Sam Montembeault will get the start tomorrow for the Habs vs the Boston Bruins"
And you, who would you have sent in net for the Montreal Canadiens tomorrow night against the Boston Bruins, if you were in Martin St-Louis' position?
Samuel Montembeault, 29 years old, 6-foot-3 and 218 pounds, has a 4-4-1 record this season with the Canadiens, along with a goals-against average of 3.61 and a save percentage of .857.
Jakub Dobes, 24 years old, 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, has a 6-1-1 record this season with the Canadiens, along with a goals-against average of 2.70 and a save percentage of .901.
If the Canadiens want to keep their advantageous position in the NHL standings, the goaltenders will need to regain their usual high level of play. That will start tomorrow night, with Samuel, against the Boston Bruins.
They will also have to do it without Alex Newhook who got injured in yesterday's game against the Stars.
More details to come, and we will keep you updated.
