Announcement by the NHL: Martin St-Louis and the Canadiens could have their schedule changed soon
According to TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie, Martin St-Louis and his players might have to change their schedule relatively soon.
It might seem trivial, but it completely changes the routine for some.
«One of the agenda items at the GM meeting is the practice times on game days. It is expected to be moved up by 30 minutes, so at 10:00 for the home team and 11:00 for the visiting team. A change that needs to be approved this week.» - Renaud Lavoie
Therefore, the NHL should announce and confirm everything shortly.
It's special to see that league leaders intervene at this level, but it shows that everything is regulated and adjusted to the minute.
This will therefore give the guys more time between morning practice and the game, but it will take away their time in the morning. (especially for those who jump on the ice early to get some extra time)
This is one of the points currently being discussed at the National Hockey League's board of governors meeting, taking place in Florida.
Here is a list of five other points discussed, enumerated by Marco Normandin:
«Crack down on reverse hits to avoid injuries.
Impose a penalty on players who sit on the boards for long seconds waiting for a line change, in order to prevent potential injuries to a player or a linesman skating backward near the bench.
Possibility of sending the same player more than once in shootouts.
Crack down on players who cheat on faceoffs.»
