David Reinbacher's debut in North America has not been easy. However, things now seem to be getting back on track, as shown by new images published on social media.

We remember that from the moment he was drafted, the young Austrian endured the venom of fans frustrated by the Canadiens not selecting Matvei Michkov.
On top of that, during his first camp with the Montreal Canadiens last fall, the defenseman suffered a major injury.. An incident that forced him to miss several games and significantly slowed his development.
That wasn't all.
When he returned to play with the Laval Rocket, the defenseman had to miss several more games.
While the club said it was to avoid rushing his rehabilitation, we can suspect it was for other reasons.
Nothing to ease the pressure he was already under..

David Reinbacher training in Zurich and appears to be skating with ease

We have not yet seen the 5th overall pick of the 2023 draft in Brossard with his teammates, as he is still in Switzerland.
With his skills coach Kevin Parada, Reinbacher is currently skating in Zurich. Based on the footage we have seen, he seems to be doing very well.
It's great to see him skating like this, and we are already looking forward to seeing what he will do at the next training camp.
Even though a spot has opened with the departure of Logan Mailloux, Reinbacher will have to work hard to make the team right from the start of the season.
It's very likely, even though the Canadiens currently have only two right-handed defensemen in their regular lineup-Noah Dobson and Alexandre Carrier-that the young defenseman will begin the season with the Laval Rocket.
If he somehow manages to surprise everyone, I'm sure Kent Hughes will find a way to give him the spot he deserves in the club's lineup.
That would be high-quality reinforcements for Martin St-Louis' squad!
